Change is a disco/funk ensemble founded in the early 80’s by producer Jacques Fred Petrus and created a sound with a group of well experienced disco, soul and r&b singers that exploded from their first hit “A Lover’s Holiday” from 1980. “Change Of Heart” is their single from their 1984 project produced by the legendary Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The track gives lead singer Deborah Cooper an opportunity to blend into the situation which falls short of a love affair to a relationship. There are the levels of vocal segments that play out wonderfully in this number and make it one of the great funk/dance tracks from this ensemble.
I have taken the 12” version of “Change Of Heart” and guided the works into a new ReStructure Mix. The winding beats and slaps were again used to give the song more layers within this groove. New drums are added to give another illusion of distance.
