After striking the disco gold mine with their first hit “Funkytown” they became a well-known act on dance floors. Their third LP titled “Designer Music” created a new sound for disco music as it grew into the 80s. The title track became a hit in clubs and helped to keep the band around for a few more years.
I have taken the LP version of “Designer Music” and paired it with the 1981 designer-comedy, “So Fine” starring Ryan O’ Neal and Jack Warden. The film is the story of a clothing designer who creates the ultimate bottomless jeans – and soon they become the hit of fashion.
