"Native Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - DivineDivine (Harris Glenn Milstead) is unmistakable in any sense. He began as a drag performer in cult classic films by John Waters - even more perfect is his role in disco/high energy music in the early-80s. Teamed with producers Danny Weiss and Bobby Orlando a camp-driven hardcore synthesized dance edge was created.
"Native Love" is from Divine's album "My First Album" from 1982 - an array of simple and fun dance tracks. It has become a classic among club goers and now work that identifies this drag-diva's style all together.
I have taken the 12" version and mixed and looped parts for a whole new experience. I have also added surprise vocals from Divine's early cult films "Pink Flamingos" to work the mood slowly, but surely.
