ReStructure Mix Update (3/11/24):”High On The Boogie” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Stargard

Stargard is a disco/funk project from producer Norman Whitfield with a big 1978 dance floor hit titled “Which Way is Up?” – featured in the Richard Pryor comedy film. The trio consisted of Debra Anderson, Janice Williams and Rochelle Runnells and later in 1980 Debra left the group. “High On The Boogie” is a dance track which follows in the funky vein which made these ladies the superlative attraction in the late 80’s. This dance anthem has several juicy riffs and funky vocal segments where the groove is no longer needed to guide your hips. The track is from the 1980 album “Back 2 Back” and gives us again that crossover between funk and disco that is so delicious.

I have taken the album version of “High On The Boogie” and released a new past tense groove for this ReStructure Mix. I have used the effect segments along with a Paradise Garage classic by Winners to emphasize the major funkiness ignited again.
