Sister Sledge are Debbie Sledge Young, Joni Sledge, Kathy Sledge and Kim Sledge. This ensemble was produced by Chic Organization (Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards) during the late 70’s and began a whole new style for the group and several major hits, including “We Are Family” and “Reach Your Peak”. Their first album produced by the Chic-duo was the 1979 project “We Are Family” and along with the tilted track a few more hits emerged including “Lost in Music” – a song where music becomes the peak of one’s dream and living an ordinary life is impossible. It is perhaps the most teasingly dance track to solidify the urge to keep music as the top priority and everything else a stepping stone – as worded “lost in music”.
I have taken the album version of “Lost in Music” along with a later released instrumental and worked a new downbeat version for this ReStructure Mix. A new Latin percussion piece is added to once again get us as “lost” as possible in this new sound.
