ReStructure Mix Update (3/15/24):”Evergreen” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Hazell Dean

Hazell Dean is a British pop singer who became the high energy diva of the 80’s. “Evergreen” is her cover of Barbra Streisand’s hit from 1976 and in a production from Willi Morrison & Ian Guenther (THP Orchestra, Sticky Fingers, Duncan Sisters, and Southern Exposure) brings the ballad on the dance floor with grace and energy. The full on electronic production is the 80’s standard where beautiful songs and suggestive orchestral segments met with the new sound of time. The vocal from Hazell is perhaps the more important areas here as not any singer recreate a pop hit with such a smooth impact. This is one of the great moments where the beat and the ballad collide with great accomplishment.

I have taken the 12” version of Hazell Dean’s “Evergreen” and rematches it in this ReStructure Mix along with the original. The segments work together to recreate the tenderness of the song and yet more energy for the dance floor.
