ReStructure Mix Update (3/12/25):”Down On The Street” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Shakatak

Shakatak is an English jazz/funk band from the early 80’s who released several great dance tracks during their creative spin. “Down On The Street” is from their 1984 project by the same name - produced by Nigel Wright. One of the uplifting songs of that period which display  positive and beautifully arranged dance numbers. Plenty of those horns blaring out the celebration which are complimented by lead vocals from Jill Saward and backing vocals from Tracy Ackerman. This is a wonderful 80’s funk/dance number which always gives off a great vibe.

I have taken the 12” versions of “Down On The Street” and rejoiced with the piece again for this ReStructure Mix. Using pieces of the intro and instrumental to create a new path to dance down.
