"Night Dancer" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Jeanne Shy

• "Night Dancer" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Jeanne Shy

Those disco songs that pulled you into a make believe world of flowing strings and thumping ecstasy were wonderful to find. In a realm of fantasy "Night Dancer" by Jeanne Shy erupted in 1979. Produced by Bob Esty (Barbara Streisand's "The Main Event", Frankie Valli's "Heaven Above Me", Cher's "Take Me Home" and "Hell On Wheels" LPs, D.C. LaRue, Andy Williams disco rendition of "Love Story", etc.) and also the arranger and probably the reason for the success of Donna Summer's "Last Dance" and "Once Upon A Time" projects. Esty's genius in the disco scene has been overlooked long enough - he has created some of the most lyrical and exciting productions and arrangements in disco history.

With Jeanne Shy he utilized her incredible (and I say mildly) vocal range to the extent of haunting disco lovers for years with this 12" single featuring a fabulous remake of "That Old Black Magic" on the flip.

This track was another that I felt reluctant to touch - but had to pay homage to the greatness of it and continue to spread the magic across another place and time. This one will have you floating above the floor as well as moving on it.

A great track and best dedicated to the artist, Jean Shy (as spelled today) - check out the magic at her site by CLICKING HERE - WHAT A VOICE!
