"Quartz" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Quartz

• "Quartz" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Quartz

In 1978 Quartz released their LP simply titled “Quartz”. This LP displayed some of the earliest signs of new age technology in dance music. Many variations are displayed throughout this project, which remain some of the simplest, yet the most complex. Produced C. Quartz and engineered by Regis Le Corre

“Quartz” is the “A” side of the project, which is simply a theme using bold synthesizers and keyboards to outline a tribal like theme. Much of the choruses and chants are not understood and this is what makes the track as mystical as a classic like “Hills Of Kat Mandu” by Tantra.

It builds into several layers of rhythmic pulses, which is how I ReStructured the track for a new feel.

A bit of fantasy has always been what disco music was based on in the mid and late part of the era – this is one of the finest.
