ReStructure Mix Update (9/5/22): “Funky Celebration” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Queen Samantha

ReStructure Mix Update (9/5/22): “Funky Celebration” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Queen Samantha

Queen Samantha is producer Harry Chalkitis and vocalist Gloria Brooks. The concept band began in 1978 with their first project titled “The Letter” which included a cover of Box Tops 1967 rock-classic by the same name. The sound of Queen Samantha consisted of the falsetto lead painting a mood over Euro-disco and electronic arrangements. “Funky Celebration” is from the 1979 project “The Queen Samantha” and is the eclectic sound of disco in its finale 70s form. This one uses horns and a heavy percussion layer to move from rhythmic sessions to the verses and acapella verses. One of the iconic sounds for this fabulous group and another reason they will always be remembered.

I have taken the album version of “Funky Celebration” and realigned the wonderful horns and vocals for this ReStructure Mix. I have extended the vocalese pieces of the song and made use of a new exit where the energy attempts to slowly due down.
