ReStructure Mix Update (8/14/23): “I’ll Be Good To You” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Hydro featuring Lorna

Hydro is a Canadian disco band whose self-titled project from 1979 was a big hit in many clubs now brings back the feel of “disco band”. Produced by Joe La Greca who also gave us Kat Mandu, Vera, Nancy Martinez and Jay Peel. This layout is a rhythm session with lots of funk driven into the disco beat. “I’ll Be Good To You” is a track from the project which is a groove that follows the formula of disco music in its prime where the horns and percussion drive the beat into a layer of solid riffs. The vocal from Lorna Di Fiore make this one funky and raw as underground disco should be. Hydro is a classic among the big year of disco music and the excitement can be heard in a track like this.

I have taken the album version of “I’ll Be Good To You” and reinstated the funkiness of the piece for this ReStructure Mix. The rhythm guitar and the funky bass are brought out for another play with the breaks and a new fade.
