ReStructure Mix Update (5/14/24):”Hit That Perfect Beat” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Bronski Beat

Bronski Beat is one of the innovative synth-pop groups of their time and along with the vocals of Jimmy Sommerville the hits were only expected. The members also included Steve Bronski and Larry Steinbachek – both who recently left us with their fabulous music. With the departure of Jimmy Sommerville as he joined The Communards it was unclear whether or not the group could continue – however they did. “Hit That Perfect Beat” from 1985 was a new energy and powerhouse sound for the band and was produced by Adams Williams. This this in one of the most memorable of the energy dance tracks of that year and demonstrated the talent these boys were given. It was one song which always ended up on my playlists and packed the dance floor.

I have taken the original 12” version and the dub from the second 12” release of “Hit That Perfect Beat” and rewired the energy for this ReStructure Mix (dedicated to Steve, Larry and Jimmy). The new arrangement places new breaks in surprising places with only moments to entertain your feet.
