Machine Orchestra is a project from Chicago artist Peter Black, Their 1992 single “Survival” is a garage house track that pulls a notable extreme on the less fortunate fighting to stay alive. This theme sounds like it would resonate from one of the 80’s dance flicks where the neighborhood kids are trying to save ‘the center’. It does contain nice soulful vocal from an uncredited singer who beats the world into awareness with her power and rage. There were a few of these songs were the uplifting segments of a house playlist and made the moment much more exciting.
I have taken the 12” vocal version of “Survival” and replayed the song again in the ReStructure Mix vein. More of the beats are utilized throughout the new arrangement and the choruses are spaced more widely apart.
