ReStructure Mix Update (3/23/20) “Let Go, Let Go (Let Love Be The Driver)” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kellee Patterson
Kellee Patterson is a disco singer from Gary, Indiana who became the first woman of color to win Miss Indiana in 1971. Her vocal talents eventually lead into the disco era where she recorded several memorable tracks including “If It Don’t Fit, Don’t Force It” from 1971. Her big disco hit “Let Go, Let Go (Let Love Be The Driver)” from 1979 is one of the grand pieces of disco memorabilia since it contains all of the elements of a fast paced disco track of the time. It was produced by L. Russell Brown and flows beautifully with its lyrical and sensual vocal delivery from Ms. Patterson.
I have taken the 12” version of “Let Go, Let Go (Let Love Be The Driver)” and reworked a ReStructure Mix using the bass guitars as the foundation of the mix. It is more of a dub outline with new beats added to beef up the energy.
