ReStructure Mix Update (3/26/20) “Heobah (Hey-O-Bah)” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Fonda Rae

Fonda Rae is a voice that dance floors are familiar with. Her work includes several lead vocals in disco hits including Don Armando and The Seventh Avenue Rhumba Band’s “Deputy Of Love” and Fantasy’s “You’re Too Late”. Fonda’s solo recordings are a continuance of her sound which fills in a needed corner of the disco floor. “Heobah (Hey-O-Bah)” is a single released in 1983 and produced by Danny Weiss, Freddie Perez and Fonda. The track is a spiritual song that is transformed into a rhythmic chant for this infectious disco number. Fonda lends her style with some nice adlibs and feeling to the production. It is one of the songs that gave her the notoriety and celebration to her more of her talent.

I have taken the vocal and instrumental versions of “Heobah” into a ReStructure Mix using the percussion and bass stomping rhythm for a new arrangement. There are a few riffs from Michael Zager’s “Life’s A Party” album added to make the breaks and fade more of an event.
