REISSUE: "Gloria" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Laura Branigan
Laura Branigan is pop-disco recording artist who was heavily influenced by Donna Summer, Gladys Knight and Stevie Nicks. Her big break came with a cover of Italian singer, Umberto Tozzi's "Gloria" in 1982. The song took off instantly in clubs and radio making Laura and instant star.
I have taken the 12" version of "Gloria" and worked a new ReStructure Mix to give the song a new reason to feel the power of the song itself - as Branigan seems to speak of a fast-track woman who should catch herself before everything collides. A great track!
This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Miss Laura Branigan who sadly left us in 2004 - her voice and music continue to bring out the drama of dance music and the beauty of this lady.
