ReStructure MixUpdate (5/7/21) “In The Name Of Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Astaire

Astaire is an 80’s high energy project from John Davies and Nigel Stock – and also from the Passion Records collection. One of the vital parts of the early 80’s dance transition from disco to high energy. “In the Name Of Love” is their 1985 single and once again marks a moment when the rolling drums and heavy beats made the dance floor shake with excitement. The vocals provided again by Tracy Ackerman are the sweetness which create the emotion and stir the energy into a hypnotic sound. Much like their early releases this piece is more centered on effect in many ways as the words seem to project heartache and despair even though the build within the song is always celebratory. A wonderful number and one of my favorites from Astaire.

I have taken the 12” version of “In The Name Of Love” and reworked the sequencers and keyboards for this ReStructure Mix. The intro fades in from a sweeping keyboard arrangement and some new percussion guides our story along in a new way.
