REISSUE: “Nasty Disposition” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Aurra
Aurra is one of the early 80’s funk bands which consisted of members of the band titled Slave. This session band began its recording career in 1980 with lead vocals from Starlena Young whose voice is most recognizable in the Slave track “Just A Touch Of Love” from 1979. “Nasty Disposition” is from their 1981 album titled “Send Your Love” produced by Steve Washington which gives the funk and disco arrangement its proper blend. The crossover between the disco era of the late 70’s and the funk edge injected to save dance music is a big part of this period. Many productions using the dance formula were lowering BPM’s and giving more resonance to the 80’s new funk sound and its disco influence.
I have taken the 12” version of Aurra’s “Nasty Disposition” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix with some segments added to create some different effects. A new percussion track is added and used throughout to give this track a new edge.
