Keren and Chelle are Karen Poole and Shelly Poole – formerly a group titled Alisha’s Attic. Their 1988 single, “Sugar Daddy” is one of the finale and
definitive pieces of the 80’s high energy scene. Produced by Steve Slavin, J. George Hargreaves and Mick Parker in a sweet yet with slivers of
sequencers shooting out the rhythm along with the SAW-sound alike feel. It is a track that worked in my club for months where peak time reached just
that. The song itself is quite irresistible and has the two girls playing the role as close to you can image as the energy prevails.
I have taken the 12” vocal of “Sugar Daddy” and reworked a new lesson for this ReStructure Mix. It plays out with more of a drawn out intro and a
fading exit. The new arrangement is a resorting of the original with a few new breaks.
