Chilly is a German disco group featuring Oscar Pearson, Sofia Eyango, Ute Weber and Werner Südhoff – the concept and production is from Bernt Möhrle. Their first project from 1978 titled “For Your Love” is their disco cover of The Yardbirds’ rock classic with an extreme overhaul and incredible arrangement joining the slick disco sound with a rock feel. “Better Stop” is also from this project and is a friendly warning from one friend to another about the abuses of cocaine in circles. The intent is laid out plainly where the soul is stolen from the addiction and a clear path is waiting. It also contains the strong combination of Ute’s rock edged voice along with a soulful dose from Oscar Pearson.
I have taken the short album version of “Better Stop” and reapplied the original production along with a new bas beat for this ReStructure Mix. A bit more of the dreamy segments which represent the fantasy involved in the misuse of the drug in this warning.
