ReStructure Mix Update (12/08/23): “You” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Marcia Hines
Marcia Hines is a vocalist who began her recording career in 1975 and gave her music a unique feel with her distinct delivery and whole hearted emotion infused. Her dance floor hot from 1981 titled “Your Love Still Brings Me to My Knees” is one of my favorites from the period thanks to Marcia’s incredible vocal. It was also a dance floor igniter where the first few minutes brought many new dancers out. “You” is a track released in 1977 from her album, “Ladies and Gentleman” – which was also recorded by Rita Coolidge the following year. This love song is a testimony for a partner who leaves her mind on feeling excited on what is to come. It is one of the tracks which make it easy to fall in love with love itself.
I have taken the short 3 minutes album version and extended this sonnet for a ReStructure Mix in care of it. The piano tracks are inverted and realigned for more extensive layout of this version and Marcia is still riding on top of this number.
This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Carla Monsalve who requested this hidden gem. Thank you again, Carla for bringing out the 70’s in a ferocious way! Much love and thanks for your dedication to this dance period,
