REISSUE: “Power Hungry” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix –Radiah Frye Radiah Frye is a vocalist from France who was also a member of the disco group New Paradise. Her recording career started in 1975 and spanned throughout 1980 when she recorded with disco producer Gino Soccio with the single “Power Hungry” – co-produced by Marco Juniore. There is Soccio’s magic all over this electronic and pulsating track. The title gives a great description although Radiah sings about an arrogant lover who gives insecurity as well as unfulfilling love. Released in 1980 this was one of the last pumping disco tracks of the time which helped to revive the energy of the late 70’s disco feel. I have taken the 12” of “Power Hungry” and re-energized the pumping synths and pop-rock edge into a new ReStructure Mix. The looping and rearranged pieces give way to an alternate version for Soccio fans and also those who can’t get enough of the early synth-pop sound of the 80s.
