REISSUE: “Let’s Go Dancing” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rocky Mizell
Rocky Mizell is an artist who was released on the Miami label Drive Records during the late 70’s. His first album from 1977 featured The Sugar Rock Band and is the disco groove which made the sound of the time work so well. A nice edge of soul polished dance numbers with a club edge. “Let’s Go Dancing” is his 1980 single which is another example of his direct connection to the Miami sound of dance music - quite similar to K.C. and The Sunshine Band. This number was always one of my favorites and s like candy to a dancer. A nice vocal riff which echoes the disco fever that was playing out in the clubs during the late 70’s.
I have taken the 12” version of “Let’s Go Dancing” and reworked the groove for this ReStructure Mix. More percussion is added to give the new arrangement some spice and more of the soulful twists which make up the excitement.
