REISSUE: “Get Here” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Linda Imperial

Linda Imperial moved into the dance music scene with the group Loverde (“Die Hard Lover”) in 1982 and moved onto a solo career in 1985 with her club hit “Stranger”. Since then Linda has given dance floors many opportunities to share her beautiful vocals in many flavors of high energy dance music including her tracks “Fire”, “Killing Me Softly”, and a fabulous cover of “Where The Boys Are” in 1998. On the classic San Francisco label Megatone Records and along with pioneer disco artist and producer Ernest Kohl (“Follow Your Heart”) brought a roaring translation of Oleta Adams “Get Here” in 1993. This one is an amazing arrangement and placement for Linda’s always beautiful delivery into a fascination of love and desire. It was one of the big hits for my club for months and remained one of my personal favorites. It is high energy taking a transition to a look back at what made dance music great – a wonderful full production and a fabulous diva.

I have taken the 12” version of Linda’s “Get Here” and weaved a new ReStructure Mix and focused on breaking down the lovely lyrics for a tease in and out. There is a new rhythm track to outline the melodic feel of the song and a fade.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Ms. Linda Imperial and the incredible Mr. Ernest Kohl for the contributions to dance music throughout the years.
