Rick Astley (Richard Paul Astley) is a singer from the U.K. whose voice ignited the mid-80’s with beautiful and soulful results. His first project produced by Stock Aitken and Waterman is one of the most memorable of the time. Rick has a fantastic voice which has the effect that Barry White had in the early 80’s. It was a romantic feel and the dance tracks which SAW created were perfection for this celebrated new star. “Together Forever” is from his 1987 album “Where Ever You Need Somebody” and is the outline of the powerhouse productions that the three producers were well at creating and along with Rick’s vocals the music is still intriguing and uplifting.
I have taken the 12” version of “Together Forever” along with a short instrumental the new “reimagined” ballad piece and reworked a new ReStructure Mix for this classic. The bass synths are realigned and re-patterned and a break in the energy is put to a halt for a slow climb back to the energy.
