Vivian Vee is an Italian singer who at the age of 18 joined forces with producer Claudio Simonetti and Giancarlo Meo – the duo who also brought us Easy Going, Capricorn and Goblin. A power force in the early 80’s with dance music which filtered many areas of energy and theme. Vivian’s 1983 project titled “With Vivian Vee” is one of the effected productions from successful dance floor projects like Jacques Fred Petrus’ Change (“Glow Of Love”). This movement where electronic pieces worked in a more funk driven style It became the mother of US producers like Kashif who took the sound and made it a soulful experience. This movement from European disco to a funkier edge was a new sound for Vivian Vee and this project proved that she took it to heart. “Wanna Feel” is a sweet love song that follows closely the Change edge with a touch of Kashif – you can hear the sounds and influences. One of my favorite periods where dance music influenced its own.
I have taken the album version of “Wanna Feel” and stripped away the rhythm and grooves to reassemble them in this ReStructure Mix. A few new breaks and bridges are added using the original riffs. This is a salute to Meo and Simonetti who are the geniuses of Italo-disco in its early form.
