Seventh Avenue is a high-energy project from “the masters”, Ian Levine and Fiachra Trench. This is a concept group which began in 1979 with their album “Midnight In Manhattan” and then revised in 1984 with the release of the single “I Hear Thunder” which brought their upbeat Broadway celebration feel disco arrangements into a new dance period with a full electronic arrangement. A new line up of men were assembled for the group and a make-over created a whole new, yet reminiscent view of the concept group. “Ending On A High” is another bright and swirling love song with the two discovering a new found affection when close to a break up. The track did quite well in the dance palaces which featured anthem dance tracks as a norm and club that clamored for high energy.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Ending Up On A High” and as being a favorite of my own, I reignited the piece for this ReStructure Mix. The accapella intro has become the movement of the remix and some new arrangements on verses and choruses are newly placed.
