ReStructure Mix Update (10/12/21) “Outside Looking In” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Carlis Munro
Carlis Munro is an artist from the Westbound Records label during the Mike Theodore and Dennis Coffey disco/funk construction period. It may have been the parallel of what Motown was to the 60’s in what Theodore/Coffey layered into a disco club sound for a new audience. “Outside Looking In” is their masterpiece from the 1979 and the project titled “I Was Made For Love” and Carlis as the headlining vocalist. This one plays out like a Norman Whitfield/Temptations classic with the psychedelic focus taking this floor to another destination. Carlis soars with the bridge of this monster song and makes a nice mark in a hidden disco gem. I have always admired the pumping energy, Coffey grooves and that Theodore funk.
I have taken album version of “Outside Looking In” and re-edged the trip into a new ReStructure Mix. The stompin’ energy is used to the hilt with a new drum fill and then broken down several moments of this new version.
