Jam Tronik is a German Euro-dance group with vocalist Anja Lukaseder and producer Ulrich Fischer. Their cover of the pop-classic “Stand By Me” from 1992 is a wonderful shine in the essence of the many covers of this song. This time around heavy drum beats accompany a swirling keyboard arrangement and deep house feel. The vocal is a nice twist and is a bit like Kim Carnes and in her raw fashion. This one was a closing favorite of my club at the time and remains a bit infectious with it use of an uplifting edge for this already fantastic piece of music. It stands with some of the best covers in the Euro-house tradition and makes it easy to understand how the 90’s became a path for the sound of a heavy synthesized disco feel.
I have taken the 12” version of Jam Tronik’s “Stand By Me” and worked in many of the drop outs for this ReStructure Mix. The extended intro and more lyrical feel of the musical pieces are accentuated with a new drum beat.
