Sharon Redd is a force in dance music that always makes her an iconic figure. Her inception onto dance floors was the big disco hit “Love Insurance” as she sang lead for a session group titled Front Page. From there on her solo career took off in many winning directions. Her first project was produced by Willie Lester and Rodney Brown (Gayle Adams, Bobby Thurston) and was a step in the New York funk arena with the big dance floor piece “Can You Handle It”. However, much of Sharon’s talent is hidden within each project as it is here with “Try My Love On For Size”. It is a sexy and driving soul-disco track that transforms itself into a vocal stage for Redd who always flows with the music to stay on track. An alternative song for many adventurous jocks and one of my favorites from Sharon Redd.
I have taken the album version of “Try My Love On For Size” and reworked the drum pieces into a new foundation to work this ReStructure Mix. There are a few new breaks and more of Sharon in cuts and loops.
