Chris Rainbow (Christopher James Harley) is a musician whose career includes sessions with Alan Parsons Group in the 70’s. His 1981 single “Body Music” is a wonderful dance/jazz fusion piece with a nice flow and vocal. It is the outline of the night life scene and the focus is on a femme dealer who supplies the players with their substances to make the evening complete. It is a pop-oriented dance number that was also featured on the DJ subscription service, Disconet. Many jocks including myself found it a nice number to program during early evening sets or after-hours wind-downs. The irresistible arrangement is a bit haunting gives off a nice resonance that plays out well in the night club scene,
I have taken the 12” version of “Body Music” and realigned a new ReStructure Mix to give this dance track another story to play out. A new heavy drum is added to lay down the bass with more power and a couple of new breaks included.
