Meccano is Nadia Bani and Walter Bassani – an Italian disco group who released several dance tracks which outlined the high energy set during the mid-80s. Much of their work has a wonderful shine to both instrumental tracks and vocals thanks to this duo. “Down Down Romeo” is a single from 1985 which is a fuse of synthetic energy pulsating along with some great vocals riffs. The pace of this number is fast and furious as Nadia wards off a suitor who has held on to his eye affixed in desire. The track worked very well during its release and helps to keep that ridge of Italian disco and US high energy.
I have taken the 12” version of “Down Down Romeo” and rewired the existing energy into a new ReStructure Mix. A new kick back beat adds more to the dance movement of this new version and more rearranging on the chorus and verses works a new sound.
