Rockwell (Kennedy William Gordy) released his second album titled “Captured...By An Evil Mind” in 1985 – following the success of his first single “Somebody’s Watching Me” from the prior year. “Peeping Tom” was the single from the second project and caught my attention immediately with the sheer string bridge which brings to mind the disco effect. The theme of the track is clever once again as Rockwell provides a story of eyes lured by an unknown force and making this synth-pop number stand out with his vocal and touch. Although the release was not as noticed as his first hit, it still remains a hidden treasure from am 80’s artist who left an indelible mark in dance music.
I have taken the album and 12” version of “Peeping Tom” and refocused the ReStructure Mix on a strip down of its elements and power. I have made use of the keyboards and thumping bass lines to recreate this number in a new phase.
