The Human League is the 80’s electronic band which created a new lure to the dance floor in a simplistic yet well defined. Their big hit “Don’t You Want Me Baby” from 1981 is the landmark of their success yet the project which brings the complete sound of this band is “Dare”. From this album comes the track “The Things That Dreams Are Made Of” which once again strips down the electronic keyboards and lays out a robotic-rhythm which gives the lead vocals of Philip Oakey a syncopated finish. This combination is one of the 80’s perfect moments.
I have taken the album version of “The Things That Dreams Are Made Of” along with the instrumental from their The League Unlimited Orchestra release and created a new ReStructure Mix with more of a dance palace feel. More of the keyboards are edited and chopped into pieces where a new pounding drum track can accent them. A tribute here is to The Human League and their talents in making the 80 are a memorable place.
