ReStructure Mix Update (4/29/23): “You’re Not So Hot” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Carol Douglas
Carol Douglas is a disco diva who has given the disco era many tracks to move on dance floors with including “Doctor’s Orders”, “Night Fever” and “Midnight Love Affair”. Her 1983 project titled “Love Zone” produced by Andy Barret, Eddie O'Loughlin, Ray Rock and Richard Sher features her single “You’re Not So Hot” which is definitive in its own right. This track gives us a Carol fed up with a relationship that is currently challenging and now somewhat done. This statement as the titled says, “You’re Not So Hot” is the end of the romance which seems to bring only lies and pain. It is an early 80s dance floor hit that gives a new sound and a Carol who has moved on both into the 80’s and in songs message.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental mix of “You’re Not So Hot” and revisited this sassy piece again for this ReStructure Mix. There is a down beat and percussion added to give a stomping edge to the rhythm and a few new breakdowns to make this one shine again – or ‘burn” out!
