REISSUE: “Flamethrower” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The J. Geils Band

REISSUE: “Flamethrower” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The J. Geils Band The J. Geils Band is one of the 70’s rock super groups with 11 albums to their credit during the time period. “Freeze-Frame” is their 1981 project and features several hit singles including “Flamethrower” which gave the crew a crossover dance number that also became an instrumental for a rap song from Felix & Jarvis in 1982. This piece used a hard pounding drum to give the rock edged song a hardcore rhythmic sound. It is one of the nice elements as well as the story of a woman so hot and sexy she leaves flames wherever she goes. A big crossover dance number for The J. Geils Band and a piece of 80’s dance history. I have taken the album version of “Flamethrower” and pounded out a new ReStructure Mix with more of the energy for the dancers who stills can take the heat. There are a few more breaks and breakdowns for this story of a siren that makes head spin.
