REISSUE: “In The Year 2525” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Act featuring Clinton III

REISSUE: “In The Year 2525” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Act featuring Clinton III The Act is an Italo-disco project from Claudio Mangione, Svan Taurus, and Walter Edlington. Their only release is a cover of the Zager and Evans song from 1968 which transfers the folk edge of the original into the 90’s house period following the success of the Euro-house band Double You and their cover of K.C. and The Sunshine Band’s “Please Don’t Go”. This was one of the most saturated dance markets of all dance history and does bring back the period as another light and happy era for dancing. The Act follows the same formula which always began with the pumping organ outline which was influenced in the early 80’s by Jimmy ‘Bo’ Horne’s “Spank”. I have taken the 12” versions of “In The Year 2525” and recreated a more fluent version which focuses on breaks to give our minds and hearts and opportunity to image the lyrical content and its message. A touch of the original is added only to bring back the feeling of the 60s where folk music was a powerhouse of itself.
