ReStructure Mix Update (6/1/21) “Calling All Boys” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Flirts
The Flirts are a female trio created by producer Bobby Orlando. Their first album titled “Dime A Dance” was an 80’s sensation as it introduced the trio with an electro-new wave sound and also a synth-pop dance arena. Not only did the alternative dance floors favor their tracks, so did the dance floors whom were wondering into a new era of dance music from 70’s disco. “Calling All Boys” is one of the pieces that 1982 welcomed with the percussion driven and heavy synthesized arrangements that Bobby Orlando was bringing to dance floors. The piece is a campy rip into women adoring the hot shots on the horizon and letting them know. It is pure fun and has always been a favorite of fans of The Flirts.
I have taken the 12’ version of “Calling All Boys” and rewired the track for this ReStructure Mix. A new neutron beat is laid over the original and the pieces of the song that emphasize the most are given a new stage.
