ReStructure Mix Update (6/4/21) “Against All Odds” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Willie & Co.

Willie & Co. is an Italo-disco project from the Disco Magic Record Company.  Their 1993 release of “Against All Odds” is an Italodance piece that is a cover of the Phil Collins song from the same film title. This execution is similar to the style of Double You and their cover of “Please Don’t Go” a year earlier in 1992. The house beats are the formation of the rhythm and pump on and on as most house music of the end of the 80’s and early 90’s create. This one has a familiar vocal also which directs the source from that era of dance music. It is done quite well with the melody placed into the dance beats and also is successful in creating emotion for the dance floor.

I have taken the 12” versions of Willi & Co. and their cover of “Against All Odds” and reworked the arrangement for this ReStructure Mix. A longer intro and some new drum beats are added to give the song more of a stage appeal.
