Space is a French disco project from Jean-Philippe Iliesco, producer and Ecama, and Roland Romanelli, arrangers. This band was a forerunner in the synth-electro sound where innovation was taking their sound into a realm in a futuristic arena. Their 1977 project titled “Deliverance” is one of their most incredible contributions in this genre of disco music. As Cerrone and Alec R. Costandinos set precedence for Euro-disco in the mid-70s – so did Space for this futuristic sound and delivery. “Prison” is the initial track from the album and features a powerful vocal from Ms. Madeline Bell – a vocalist who always has a recognizable and extreme edge to her tones. This track paints the story of an outside influence on an individual trapped in a torturous relationship and a plea to flee to arms that can release them. It is always the most incredible emotions in music Space and on the side of the spectrum their instrumental always relay a force beyond our own planet.
I have taken the album version of “Prison” and relaunched it in to new sound for this ReStructure Mix. There is a new intro to ready us for the drama ready to begin and more of the drums and percussion added to give this rhythm a new place.
