Sylvester released his album “M-1015” in 1984 with the first single “Rock The Box” and his salute the New York break-beat sound. The track was produced by Ken Kessie and Morey Goldstein and on the San Francisco disco label Megatone Records. The track had Sylvester’s vocal outlining a generation of street dancers moving to a new sound in his own style.
I have taken the 1984 musical, “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo” and set the pace with plenty of the breakdancing and excitement which began a whole new phase of dance music in the early and mid-80s.
The film was directed by Sam Firstenberg
