Lama is an electronic dance project from La Drogueria Di Drugolo and Quelli Del Castello also known as Katmandu Productions. Best known for their work on the Tantra/”Hills Of Kat Mandu” project along with conductor and arranger, Celso Valli (Passengers, V.I.S.A., Nuggets, Tantra) the magic is once again achieved in this cover of Lucio Battisti's song "Il Veliero" from 1976. The arrangement here transforms the original acoustic feel into a whirling pattern of sequencers and echoes of piano overtures. “Love Is On The Rocks” is a moody piece which works well with the genre that Katmandu Productions is best known for in the Italian disco genre. The vocals are as haunting as the silent yet crashing effects that seem to portray a relationship heading for disaster.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of Lama’s “Love Is On The Rocks” and reweaved a ReStructure Mix for another trip down this road. It features a new drum track and some percussion added to give the haunting effect of the song more of a push of energy.
