Chip Chip is an Italo-disco project from Mauro Farina – and was previously known as Two Girls (“Another Boy In Town”). “Rock Me Tonight” is their 1987 release which follows a formula for a high energy dance experience and most likely influenced of course by Fun Fun. The clean execution of this electronic arrangement and much like the initial release, “Never Say Goodbye” from 1986. The energy in this single is definitely the target for both a transition for Italo-disco to their “girl twirl” period of the late 80’s.
I have taken the 12” version of “Rock Me Tonight” –using the vocal and instrumental for a revisit on this ReStructure Mix. The wonderful instrumental version lured me into breaking the verse and chorus into segments and more of the build in the energy is extended.
