Vicki Sue Robinson is best known for her big hit “Turn The Beat Around” from 1976 - produced by Warren Schatz. This was one of the turning points for dance music as it was lure to dance floors and the igniting of the nightlife in a new way. “I’m Here And I’m Hot” is her single from 1982 and is a venture into an independent movement to keep disco music alive during a new era of the 80’s. Productions became more of an electronic force and stripped groove. This track has the finesse which we always know that Vicki exuded. It plays out as her confidence in keeping the party moving as she enters the club and the energy again strikes. It is also another moment for her soulful edge to display itself in a form which awakens once again.
I have taken the 12” version of “I’m Here And I’m Hot” and worked the base and rhythm into a new ReStructure Mix. There are a few new twists and turns from the original arrangement and several breaks to calm this fire.
