Ethno League is a new beat project from Frank Meyer-Thurn. Produced in Germany and following in the footsteps of classic house track “Pump Up The Volume” by M.A.R.R.S.
This sampled dance number features a middle east flavor combined with drum segments and rhythmic inserts. A big floor packer for a time when house music was blending into the hard beat and rave scenes during the late 80’s. Many jocks were creating similar programs of their own using breaks, dub mixes and acapellas in this period therefore bringing this formula to the max. “Radio Arabesque” uses the drum tracks to keep the flow of energy moving along as well as a number of interesting samples from other media. It was an innovative and creative period in dance music and is identifiable as a genre of its own.
I have taken the 12’ version of “Radio Arabesque” and chopped pieces of the awesome drum tracks and a new arrangement for this ReStructure Mix. The focus on the original influence is kept no secret here as “Pump Up The Volume” makes its own cameo.
