Mick Jackson (Michael George Jackson-Clark) is British artist, songwriter and singer who are best known for his composing “Blame It On The Boogie” – a song he recorded and also recorded by The Jacksons 1978 album “Destiny”. During the high point of disco music’s peak in 1978 marketing and releases were at their most celebrated and was a must for new, old and continuing singers and bands to release a single that was dance formulated for discotheques. “Weekend” is an anthem that shadows closely the funky sound of “Blame It On The Boogie” with a pop-effervescence that is truly the “disco single” of the time.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Weekend” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix with a new outline on breaks and also a fade in. There is some new percussion to assist the groove and a longer exit.
