Kate B is an 80’s new beat/house project from Frank De Wulf and J.P. Ruelle and features Caty Teirlynck and vocals. This hypnotic piece is one of the finales of the Belgium Beat era during the late 80’s. Heavy beats and bass are taken from the house movement and placed over more scarce arrangements as done with this somewhat airy piece of love song where Kate B implores an acquaintance of her availability for going the round. The keyboards here are simple yet effective. They play out in a segment in parts of the track that add to the eerie feel of the song.
I have taken the 12” versions from “Free” and added a more beat conscience base to this ReStructure Mix. It gives the after-hours sound to this already deep grinding recording. The vocals play out again as the sensual overtones and are kept along with the original feel from the keyboards and bass.
