REISSUE: "We've Gotta Dance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvia Mason

Sylvia Mason (also billed as Sylvia Mason-James) is a vocalist who became a disco treat for many during the late 70s in the band Voyage. Her vocal on the disco classics “Souvenirs” and “Let’s Fly Away” have given dance floors the uplifting sensation which disco music is designed to deliver. She has performed in back-up sessions for many artists including Croisette, Wham!, Eddy Grant, Barbara Pennington and The Blow Monkeys. Her self-titled solo album from 1979 contained the single “We’ve Gotta Dance” which follows the path of traditional disco and celebrates the dance floor as the sanity of life. This project included players from Voyage including Marc Chantereau, Pierre-Alain Dahan, Roger Tokarz and Slim Pezin.

I have taken the album version of “We’ve Gotta Dance” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix – playing heavily with the fabulous drum beats and recreated some new energy for this explosive dance anthem. It is one that brought the disco sense back to my dance floor for peak hour when it was released.
