REISSUE: “On The Beat” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – D.F. and Pam

D.F. and Pam are Daniele Francescon and Mauro Pilato. Their 1983 single “On The Beat” is one of the Italo-disco tracks which helped me to identify the importance of this genre in the history of dance music. This one has the feel of energy yet a mild and smooth delivery of keyboards and synthesizers which give the continuance of disco music in electronic form its reason. The cover artwork always reminded me of the early venture from Jacques Fred Petrus and his production of Change (“The Glow Of Love”) and the lent title of his B.B. & Q Band track. It would have been robbery had it been duplicated, but not since the production takes on a whole new light. This one was always a tug of war on whether to pay the “a” side vocal or give the dance floor a new experience with the ”b” side dub/instrumental. It is solved here by myself for me by combining them both.

I have taken the 12” vocal and dub/instrumental of “On The Beat” and reworked it for this ReStructure Mix. The rolling bass and funky rhythm guitars are edited to give this reedit a new shine and direction.
