Fussy Cussy is Cussy Nicodemo - a disco project which began in the mid-70’s and on throughout the early 90’s. “Don’t Stop The Music” is their 1981 single produced by Dominique Nicodemo and Mike Nicodemo - arranged by Denis LePage (Lime). This wall of disco power ignites from the moment the first beat hits the floor. One of the big tracks of that year from my club as it gives out that full bass disco sound which would soon become “high energy”. The vocals entertain with a 50’s-like charm and the sweeping strings play out a return to the disco-mirrored ball sound. A nice track that gives off the 80’s continuum where people were not done dancing yet.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Don’t Stop The Music” and have given it a new ReStructure Mix. A play on the chorus creates a new break and also an extended segment with those killer bass riffs.

ReStructure Mix Update (4/26/25):”Night Drive” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Giorgio Moroder
Giorgio Mororder composed and created the soundtrack to the motion picture “American Gigolo” in 1980 - along with Harrold Faltermeyer and Keith Forsey he breaks into soundtracks utilizing the skills that he worked on from the start of his first disco productions with Donna Summer and his solo career. “Night Drive” is a movement from the soundtrack and is an electronic version of the theme from the film: “Call Me” by Blondie. The mood of this track is a laid back moment when the film has outlined the situation and our main character is in his realm. The early recordings with Munich Machine which Giorgio produced and conducted are similar to this outline and the arrangement is a new layer for these sessions.
I have taken the album version of “Night Drive” and reworked the foundation with some of the original percussion elements for this ReStructure Mix. I have extended the segments of the original in pieces around the new foundation with a couple of new breaks included.

ReStructure Mix Update (4/25/25):”Is It Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Machine
Machine is a disco/funk band featuring Clare Bathé, Jay Stovall, Jocelyn Brown, Kevin Nance, Lonnie Ferguson, Melvin Lee and Thomas Browder. Their big disco hit “There But For The Grace Of God Go I” from 1979 made them one of the most promising bands of the time. “Is It Love” is from their second project titled “Moving On” - produced by Joe Ferla. This piece is one of the funkiest bass guitar riffs from the time. The plucking works in and over the beats and groove of this song. It is assuring also that the lyrics project an outline of that feeling that we all experience when someone special steps into our lives. A great follow up single and a mark for this band in their short exposure.
I have taken the 12” version of “Is It Love” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix with a new balance. The bass guitar plays the main ingredient here and a couple of new drop breaks are planted to make it a new experience.

Red Fox is an Italo-house project from Falcus & Vangok. Their releases from 1989 through 1992 were a move to bring the house excitement of the late 80’s to another peak. “U Babe” is their 1991 release that is as cute as house music gets. Utilizing samples from Whitney Houston in segments this energetic piece is a celebration of the love and unity which house music was labeled throughout its club rein. The frail voice of our tell-it-all diva gives us a rundown of her spotting that face in the crowd and fantasizing far into a meaningful yet adoring arena. It has bass thumping prodding at the center of this sample-esque piece. It is house music moving on and creating more moves for the dance floor than expected.
I have taken the 12” versions of “U Babe” and rewired the bass for a new outline in this ReStructure Mix. A more fade in introduction for a mild start is planted and re-arranging the verses and choruses are a new remix all together.

Culture Beat is a German techno/Euro-house session from the nineties who had several big dance floor hits including “Mr. Vain”, “Take Me Away” and “I Like You”. Released in 1990 their initial hit “I Like You” features many house elements including the piano chase and also the throbbing bass beats. Given to this recep is a continual rap which became the outline for many techo/Euro-house tracks following. This one bounces like a rubber ball confined to a small space while active and makes all of the right stops in the genre that it creates. One of the big dance floor lures of my club at the time and one surely which becomes infectious even over time.
I have taken the US 12” mixes of “I Like You” and recreate a new stripdown mix using both in this ReStructure Mix. A few new breakdowns give this arrangement a new life and also the fading intro is much more dramatic.

Raúl Orellana is a DJ/music arranger from Barcelona who worked closely with the disco label Blanco Y Negro Music, S.A. throughout the early 80’s. His release of “Guitarra” in 1988 features guitarist J. Bonell is a flamenco extravaganza for the dance floor. In the Euro-house tradition where the heavy bass beats guide along the Spanish fused instrumental. One of the loveliest instrumental pieces of the time and a definite start to a period of familiar works being released of the time. This one guides us into a fantasy that is more or less real until the dance is over.
I have taken the 12” version of “Guitarra” a stripped down the bass beats into a new ReStructure Mix. A new intro guiding us gently into the flames of these guitars and then a few new breaks to play with.

Mc Lane Explosion is Roland Romanelli of the disco group Space. His 1978 project “Pulsar” is a deeper outline on a few of the big electronic/new age disco tracks of the time. “Accidental Lover” is his cover of Love & Kisses 1977 track from their first project produced and conducted by Alec R. Costandinos. This piece is one of the first of the Euro-disco productions to make an immediate mark on dance floors with its heavy string and horn section as well as the sweet bridges flowing between the need to cease a connection which obviously is blurred by two who are meeting in private due to other restraints. Romanelli does a light and complete arrangement and brings to life this disco overture along with vocals by The Sweethearts of Sigma.
I have taken the album version of Mc Lane Explosion’s cover of “Accidental Lover” and realigned the message for this ReStructure Mix. There are new segments which fall in a dub-like fashion and also a couple of new breaks.

File 13 is an electronic/freestyle dance session with Arthur Ether, David Witz and Doug Di Franco - and produced by Arthur Ether and Double Dee. One of the sexiest and tantalizing dance floor tracks as it tributes the adult phone sex sites of the 80’s. The suggestive nature is definitely the line between groove and movement more than anything. Heavy beats and drums pound out the oral delicacies that this area is far remembered by. There is a drawn out orgasmic feel to the song and it seems to hit home in many ways on the dance floor.
I have taken the 12” version and dub to recreate another “Taste So Good” in the ReStructure Mix essence. There are a few new samples of familiar tracks in this sexy realm and a new layout for the call is created.

ReStructure Mix Update (4/17/25):”Just How Good Is Your Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rhyze
Rhyze is a disco/soul group formed in the early 80’s and features "Jojo" McKnight, Charles Holmes, Ellsworth Anderson, Kenneth Hicks, Kevin Barbee, Richard Menter, Roscoe Taylor, and Vince Jackson. Their first project is the title of their first dance floor hit “Just How Sweet Is Your Love” - produced by Paul L. Kyser. The track is a shift from the energy disco mode into a more soulful and funk arrangement. This being one of the big songs which created this new arena at the start of the 80’s this one has a lot of the flair which disco music left us with in the late 70s. The strings are a monumental part of the track's groove and along with the vocals are a more streetwise Philly edge.
I have taken the 12” version of “Just How Sweet Is Your Love” and reignited the funk piece into a new ReStructure Mix. A new outline in moving keyboard segments into a new intro and finish. Also, a sample of Lee Marrow’s “Baby, I Need Your Love” acapella is added as it was formulated from this classic.

Cameron (Rafael Cameron) is a disco/funk artist from Salsoul Records during the late 80’s and was produced by Randy Muller. “Get It Off” is from his first project titled “Cameron” released in 1980 and is a stamp in the sound which Muller created with the group Skyy. An exploration of heavy funk keyboards along with the strings accompanying the high points of the compositions. One of the exciting moments of this new edge were the vocals of Cameron himself and the heavy groove he releases his magnetism on. It is another moment where Salsoul Records leads the dance floor onto another new and infectious sound.
I have taken the 12” version of “Get It Off” and laid out the groove for a new ReStructure Mix. The new intro plays out with the beats and bongos introducing the new situation. A few new looped segments give the groove a new play for its best effects.

ReStructure Mix Update (4/4/25):”Falling In Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Surface
Surface is a disco/funk group from David (Pic) Conley and Toni Byrd - their single from 1983 became a huge dance floor hit and gave them a start to formulate a band which recorded throughout the end of the 90’s. “Falling In Love” is their first single from 1983 and is a hypnotic funk number which brings to mind a sweetness that is love in its early stages. The piece features a female vocalist expressing her love and devotion to a relationship which has transpired and exudes energy and promise. Released on the disco label, Salsoul Records it was one of the many crossover disco bands of the time.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Falling In Love” and recreated a new take for this ReStructure Mix. The hypnotic feel is now expressed in the intro and a new break.
